-
- Who says this "MUI must be standard" ?!
-
- Ridiculous....what do you tell the standard "amiga-surfer-package"-buyer
- with his 2 Megs of Ram....how it is fun to run applications like
- AmiIRC..AmFTP..Mindwalker...or similiar...making heavy use of the
- (yeah yeah so great) MUI ?
-
- Don't forget MUI is a "alien"-program...which means every application
- programmed using it also relies on ITS bugs...and its behaviour..besides
- of this its also shareware (means you have to pay for it)..why should
- (my gewd i hope not)..AT implement it in their systemsoftware ?
- (It's sad enough many good apps like IBrowse or sth. use it...)
-
- Comes the day MUI is a 100% real part of the Amiga i sell mine and step over
- to Win95 !
-
- I know from my own experience...it is more or less *** impossibl e*** to run
- applications using MUI3.x with standard vanilla A1200....i agree this is
- a "Lamerconfig" and after i (finally) am the owner of a Turbooard with
- a load of additional Fastram MUI doesnt seem a bit better to me !
- It is still slow....many thing don't make sense.....
-
- How about 50000x times pressing some gadget for just changing a colour on
- the screen or changing the screenmode ? How about palettegadgets or
- colorwheels which come up in black/white ? Pressing a gadget first loads
- a library from disk...look at applications...they load 200 or more files
- (Snoopdos) until they start ? What is good with MUI ? Look at how it fragments
- your memory.....after few times starting some MUI-app you can reboot because
- it fragments memory like what do i know else...
-
- I think people (i.e. programmers) use MUI because there currently is no
- alternative (i mean a real one ;) using OO Boopsie-Whoopsie and this
- all very very (yawn) important features MUI offers...with look to the
- future...all very homogene and "yes..it all makes that much sense"....
-
- Maybe some programmers should look what it all leads to...a few times ago
- it was use you could setup your preferences (of a particular application)
- WITH *IN* it...colorrequesters...screenrequesters...it is/was all
- there (in the OS)...today i need 5 Megs of Ram and the same ammount on HD
- to do the same (and then maybe with lots of bugs and not logical and
- slow) as does MUI.....
-
- Ok..i stop...(to calm down a bit...;)
